About the block party for peace

The Block Party for Peace is a non-profit organization with an unmatched commitment to improving quality of life within the local Memphis community. Founded in 2006 by State Representative Antonio Parkinson, this annual event has become one of the most anticipated events in Memphis every year thanks to its special combination of entertainment and education elements. The core focus lies on job, health, and educational resources - but that’s not all! At the Block Party for Peace you'll also get to enjoy live music performances and great food while having fun with activities suited for people of any age! Our mission is to reduce crime and inspire people through positive initiatives that will bring social change that benefits us all. We strongly believe that when we all work together, we can make a difference. 

This year's event will be held on the 2nd weekend of October and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before! There will be several areas focusing on different topics like health & wellness, job opportunities, community activism and local businesses. During the day there'll also be music, food trucks and activities for all ages.
